What We Do:
Challenges for your team to solve can arrive in different guises. In our experience, it is usually one of five types.
Tailor for your situation and stay flexible as things evolve…
Most organisations have a list of challenges that they have to solve. Sometimes it’s something your team is obliged to deal with. Sometimes it is something you and your team has noticed that needs fixing. Whatever the genesis of your challenges, it is important to recognise that they have different characteristics so you can get to solving them effectively.
We like to discuss the differences up front and get prepared for what comes next. As we address a challenge, we like to stay flexible because things can and will change over time, especially as we understand it in more detail.
EDICTS
We have been given an edict and must act quickly to address it.
problems
A business problem has been identified that we need to solve rapidly.
opportunities
An opportunity has been recognised and we need to be able to capture it.
Roadmaps
We have a strategic goal to meet and require a roadmap to help us get there.
stakeholders
We are working on a strategic project and need help to manage the stakeholders.
We tailor the methodology depending on which of the above needs we will address.
It is possible that we can begin with a need that then turns into a series of other needs to be addressed. For instance, an edict might very well present us with some business problems and opportunities.
In this sense, the methodology is flexible and can cope with changes as we go through it.
